Benefits of Eating a Healthy Breakfast

Breakfast is an important meal and healthy way to refuel your body to get you in gear for the day ahead. Never overlook this meal. Learn to select healthy options that fit your taste and lifestyle.The above breakfast selections contain a huge amount of the bad fats (saturated & trans fats) from several categories including animal and dairy. They also contain high concentrations of other unhealthy ingredients like salt and sugar. Fried foods are also bad for your health.Did you know that numerous studies have found that people who eat breakfast are often slimmer than those who don't? One of the main reasons is this: When you sleep, you're obviously not eating for about 8 hours (unless you have some serious sleepwalking cravings). Your body is in a fasted state, so everything slows down. But, the sooner you eat upon waking, the sooner your metabolism is kicked back into gear for the day.

There are those that don't like to eat at the start of the day, others that don't feel like they have the time and many just want to sleep in a few more minutes. Whatever the reason, it is important to note that there are more good reasons to get that first meal than to pass on it.Breakfast is one meal you should not skip, it wakes up your metabolism and it can actually help you lose weight. A bowl of cereal in the morning can help you snack less on sweet foods during the day. It will provide you the energy you need, the vitamins and minerals and daily fiber your body uses to function during the day and it should keep you feeling full up until lunch. Cereals, fruit and milk in your breakfast will keep you healthy, and can help reduce the risk of developing diseases such as ulcer, gastritis, diabetes.A glass of milk is also a true classic, and plain yoghurt is just as good if you prefer. You can have it separately or along with your favorite cereal. Apart from the calcium that strengthens the bones, this type of food contains probiotics, which provides for more effective digestion. Most importantly, they can boost the immune system effectively.

The time to eat food is between noon and 8 pm. This is the best time to eat and let your body digest your food. This is followed by the process of assimilation from 8 pm to 4 am. Most of this takes place while you sleep. The third stage is elimination, which lasts from 4 am to around noon. During this third and final stage, your body is focused on eliminating all of the wastes and toxins from the previous day. This is NOT a time to eat a heavy breakfast, but rather a time to exercise and drink lots of fluids, fresh juices, and to eat an apple. Do NOT begin your day with a large breakfast, which will only defeat your body's purpose of cleansing and elimination.

One of the nice things about tofu is that it easily absorbs whatever seasonings are around it. Knowing this you can experiment. For example, if you add some diced teriyaki chicken from the night before, the tofu will take on those flavors.
